Sturgeon Moon - Full Moon Offer

August’s full moon rises this Saturday only a few days before the Perseid meteor shower is due to hit its peak. Known as the Sturgeon Moon, the Green Corn Moon or the Red Moon. Its name comes from the fishing season for the Sturgeon fish found in the Great Lakes in North America.

The Celts called it the Grain Moon or the Dispute Moon, a time when the first harvest was gathered, communities celebrated with festivals, and neighbours resolved disagreements before the harsher months ahead.

This final full moon of summer will share the night sky with Venus and Jupiter, appearing close together before moonrise. Like last month’s moon, it will experience a “moon illusion,” seeming larger than usual when it rises low on the horizon between 8pm and 9pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

August is a time of reflection, a moment to reflect on the season’s end and prepare for what’s ahead. The winter months can be challenging; like the sturgeon swimming upstream, we too must push against the currents. This moon invites us to think boldly, step outside the familiar, and take that leap we’ve been putting off.

Every Full Moon we offer free postage on orders over £20. Enter the code: STURGEONMOON at the checkout to claim your offer. It begins earlier than the Full Moon at 8am on the 9th of August and ends at midnight on Monday, 11th of August.
